Overview
Ticket types are used for both events and courses. Booking Rooster generally sets up your ticket types and questions before you go live. This guide is to assist you if you wish to add or edit your tickets yourself.
For events, ticket types allow for numerous types of ticketing options e.g. basic types such as early bird, adult, child, family; or more complex ones such as different event sessions.
For courses, ticket types are used with the qualifications feature to enable different types of qualifications (certificates, unit standards, NZTA classes or endorsements) for a course. When ticket types are loaded correctly, participants can look at a course listing and see exactly what qualifications are offered for that course. Ticket types also drive what the participant will be assessed on, what will appear on their certificate, and what is reported to NZQA and NZTA.
Ticket types is also where we set up any attendee questions that need to be answered when registering, both compulsory and non-compulsory.
If you are a training business that uses the qualifications and/or certificates features please also see the Add or Edit Qualifications guide as ticket types and qualifications work together,
Create a new ticket type
Here is how to create the ticket and, in the case of training providers, attach it to the qualification. Because participants need to pass all standards/components to gain the qualification, it is crucial that each ticket type matches exactly the qualification that it applies to.
- Start in Organisations > Ticket Types.
- Click Add New button. [Or, if editing ticket simply click on the ticket type name, then proceed with the ready of these steps].
- Enter in Name of ticket type e.g. First Aid at Work
- If you are a training provider with the qualifications feature enabled do the following [If you run events or are a training provider that does not have the qualifications option in the organisation menu skip these steps]:
- select the appropriate Qualification from the drop-down – this is the Display name created in Qualifications. e.g. First Aid at Work – No Unit Standards.
- Use the radio buttons to choose when this qualification will apply to the ticket type: for future tickets of this type; for future and existing tickets of this type; or for future courses only.
- Check that Status is Active.
- If you require attendees to provide answers to pre-set questions when they register, the final step is to choose your Custom Attendee Questions.
- Click Apply.
